Daher’s Model Year 2018 TBMs introduce heated seats for enhanced comfort

Tarbes, France, February 13, 2018 – Daher today announced new features for its 2018 production TBM 910s and TBM 930s, including the first electrically-heated seats for an aircraft in its single-engine turboprop category.

Building on the cabin restyling implemented last year for Daher’s very fast turboprop aircraft, every seat in Model Year 2018 TBM 910s and TBM 930s are the new heated seats, with the heating function controlled. Once the mode is engaged by the pilot via a master control in the cockpit, each occupant can choose whether to utilize the heating – and select either light or moderate heat settings.

Other new features on the Model Year 2018 aircraft are tailored for improved pilot interface. This includes backlighting on the cockpit’s central console to provide enhanced visibility at night for the manual trim, power lever, flaps lever and override controls. Additionally, a high-fidelity microphone has been incorporated in the pilot’s oxygen mask for clear communications with air traffic control when the mask is in use.

“Updates for the Model Year 2018 underscore our commitment to constant improvement on the TBM 910 and TBM 930,” commented Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit. “In addition to benefiting our owners and operators, they enhance the in-flight experience for passengers – which is important as we see the development of TBM sales to corporate and commercial operators.”

He added that Daher’s superior level of service for TBM aircraft is further evolving to meet customer expectations. In addition to the continued inclusion of Total Care Program (TCP) coverage as part of the TBM “Elite package,” Model Year 2018 TBM 910/TBM 930 customers will receive a host of new services: subscriptions to the Garmin Pilot database and Jeppesen Pilot Pak™ bundle and, in countries where available, a three-month subscription to Sirius XM weather and radio. About the Daher TBM – www.tbm.aero

The TBM 910 and TBM 930 are the latest members in Daher’s TBM family of very fast single-engine turboprop aircraft. Differences between the two models are concentrated on their primary avionics: Garmin’s G1000 NXi avionics system with physical keypad for the TBM 910; Garmin’s G3000 with touchscreen controller for the TBM 930.

Both aircraft offer superior performance – a maximum cruise speed of 330 kts. – and high efficiency with a 1,730-naut. mi. maximum range and a fuel consumption at economy cruise of 37 U.S. gallons per hour. This results from aerodynamic improvements, along with other aircraft enhancements. The maximum range and useful load, as well as the ability to land at small airports, are some of the customers’ favorite features.

To date, a total of 879 TBM aircraft have been delivered to international owners and operators, with the global fleet accumulating some 1.5 million flight hours. TBM 900-series aircraft already have received 256 orders since their launch, with 217 delivered through December 31, 2017. They are built by Daher on its industrial site at the airport of Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées (Hautes Pyrénées), France.
